What is ‘GROW YUNI’?
Our vision from the beginning has been to facilitate development opportunities for rural farmers in NE Laos through coffee cultivation. Since 2015, Yuni Coffee Co. has shared our own profits, along with contributions from private donations and government grants, to expand our total coffee growing area to over 250 hectares. These shade-grown coffee plots are owned and tended by more than 300 families!
Each year since our inception, we have provided new and veteran coffee farmers with technical support and the materials needed for starting or expanding their coffee plots. This includes coffee seedlings, shade cloth, seedling bags, watering cans, shovels, pruning shears, and more.
By launching this GROW YUNI initiative, we hope to increase our support for farmers even more in 2025, providing coffee farming supplies and technical support to more farmers. Also, we will apply 25% of the GROW YUNI initiative funds to enhancing our community development efforts, meeting needs raised by village leadership that often come in times of crisis.
